Roscosmos State Corporation for Space Activities released declassified documents about the first extravehicular activity in history on its website.

The documents feature the work of the Russian rocket and space engineering creators. Among them are signatures and notes of the Experimental Design Bureau-1 chief designer Sergey Korolyov, chairman of the State Commission Georgy Tulin, representatives of the Russian government and other prominent figures of Soviet science and industry.

There are also presented such declassified documents as the after-flight reports of the "Voskhod 2" crew, audio and photo materials.

On March 18, 1965, Soviet cosmonaut Alexei Leonov left the "Voskhod 2" space ship in deep space orbit and entered open space. In a special self-sufficing space suit, he moved away from the ship to a distance of five meters, conducted a set of research tasks and observations, and safely returned.
