Memory of Russia: All-Russian poetry contest devoted to Battles of Rzhev

On March 21, the Victory Museum and the Russian Military-Historical Society launched the All-Russian poetry contest "Poetry of Victory" marking the International Poetry Day. The Andrey Dementiev Art Contest is launched for the third time. This year it is marking the Battles of Rzhev and the Soviet Soldier Memorial, which is constructed near Rzhev.

Schoolchildren and young people under 25 are invited to write poems about the heroes of the Battles of Rzhev, comprehend the meaning of their feat and our duty to them, try to convey the feelings of soldiers and help our contemporaries to feel the wartime troubles by means of a poetic word.

The contest will include three nominations - for secondary and high school students of 11-13 and 14-17 years old, as well as between the age of 18-25. The jury's head will be songwriter Alexander Shaganov.

The contest's results will be announced on May 9. The best works of winners and laureates will be released on the official website and social networks' groups of the Victory Museum.
