Internet and History: Military pictures photobank to create by Victory Day

The largest database of photographs of the Great Patriotic War will be collected in Russia. An agreement on the creation of a photobank will be sign at the Victory Museum.

It is noted that the first stage of the project will be launched by Victory Day.

"The project is designed to make archive war photographs available to the general public. Each of these photographs is a priceless source of historical truth. The project’s ultimate task is to make this truth available and well-known", said Mikhail Myagkov, scientific director of the Russian Military-Historical Society.

The agreement on the creation of war photographs database will be signed by the chairman of the Russian Military-Historical Society Vladimir Medinsky, the general director of TASS Sergey Mikhailov and the head of the Russian State Archives Andrei Artizov.

The photobank is created on the resources of the Istoriya.rf portal. Everyone can download archived pictures for free - these historical materials can be used in reports, publications, posted on social networks.
