14 April 2020

The organizing committee of the "Salute, Victory!" children's art contest, announced in Germany, will accept applications from participants until May 5. The competition is devoted to the 75th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. It invites to participate in children and teenagers from 10 to 18 years old. The applicants will send compositions, letters, and essays on the theme of the war and the feats of the fighters against Nazism.

The idea for holding a children's art contest belongs to the institutions of the State of Hesse; it was supported by the Consulate General of the Russian Federation in Frankfurt am Main. As a result, it was decided to hold an art contest not only in Germany. The organizers are the Coordinating Council of Organizations of Russian Compatriots and the Union of Russian-Speaking Organizations of Germany.

Participants of different ages (winners will be in three age categories) are invited to write a composition or essay about their relatives - participants in the Great Patriotic War or express an opinion on the events of the war. Also, children may write letters to their old relatives, a veteran, a message on behalf of the soldier.

The jury includes representatives of organizations of Russian compatriots in Germany, heads of Russian editions, and Russian teachers. Winners and laureates will receive diplomas and gifts. One of the main tasks of the contest was to form a respectful attitude to the memory of the Great Patriotic War by the young generation.
