Informational Technologies and Museums: Annual International Festival "Intermuseum-2020" to hold in a new digital format

The XXII International Festival "Intermuseum-2020" will be held on May 27-29, 2020 in a new digital format (online) on the imuseum.ru. portal. This year the festival is entitled "Peacekeepers". It is marking the 75th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945.

The International Museum Festival "Intermuseum" is a major event in the cultural life of Russia and abroad. Today it is the largest museum festival in the world. Its various programs involve hundreds of Russian and foreign museums every year. "Intermuseum" is a unique platform not only for professionals but for a wide range of visitors as well.

The Festival structure includes an interactive museum exhibition, a business program in a webinar format, and a professional inter-museum competition.

The interactive exposition will feature the museums' activity on the preservation and restoration of cultural heritage during the combat operations, preserving the memory of the Great Patriotic War. Museum exhibitions will be presented in an interesting and easy format for portal users.

The business program will be held in the format of webinars in several virtual rooms and will include various professional thematic sessions, discussions, lectures, and masterclasses. The events of the business program are aimed at improving the qualifications of specialists from various museum areas. It will be possible to visit any space on the portal and watch live speeches of speakers, as well as ask questions to the participants with the help of a chat moderator. Events with foreign experts will be provided with a translation.

Russian museums participate in four categories of the competition program: educational activities, work with special audiences, research, restoration work, and interregional interaction. The finalists of the competition will have the opportunity to present their projects in the form of a video conference with the jury. Then the winners in the nominations and the Grand Prix winner will be chosen.
