Marking the International Museum Day, the Moscow Kremlin Museums launched a new series of online lectures entitled "The Biography of the Tsar Treasury in Faces".

The collection of the Kremlin Armory is based on the treasury of Moscow princes, Russian tsars, and emperors, collected during the centuries. The family relics of Russian sovereigns were kept here. Items for the royal treasury served as the embodiment of the power and authority of the ruling dynasty. They were created in Kremlin workshops, received as embassy gifts from the monarchs of Europe and Asia or inherited.

The new series of lectures features the most interesting stories about the Kremlin Armory and the Russian monarchs, thanks to which priceless pieces of art are stored in the Kremlin Museums today. Lectures will highlight lots of fascinating stories about historical events preceded the first carriage in the collection, the crown of the first Russian empress, the fancy dress which occupies a central place in the exposition, and much more.
