Society and Culture: Nikolai Nekrasov Library discovered the correspondence of architect Fyodor Schechtel

Specialists of the Nikolai Nekrasov Library (Moscow) discovered the family correspondence of the famous architect Fyodor Schechtel while digitizing the postcards collection. It has never been described before and published anywhere.

Library specialists discovered a total of 22 postcards of different years. Probably, they entered the collection in the 1970-1980s. Readers may already look at ten postcards on the library's website.

"After the exact attribution of postcards, "Elektronekrasovka" will release postcards as a unique special project", said the press service of the Department of Culture of Moscow.

Fyodor Schechtel (Franz Albert Schechtel) - architect, painter, and graphic artist, representative of the Russian Art Nouveau direction in architecture. Shekhtel created more than 210 architectural projects, most of them were realized in Moscow. More than 80 buildings have been preserved in the capital. Among them are the following buildings: the mansion on Spiridonovka, the Trading House of M. S. Morozov on Myasnitskaya Street, the mansion of S. P. Ryabushinsky, Yaroslavsky Railway Station.
