Internet and World History: National Library of Australia launched a new version and improved Trove portal of digital heritage

9 July 2020

The National Library of Australia launched an improved version of the Trove portal of digital heritage.

Trove provides free access to over 6.5 billion sources about Australia's recent and distant past. The updated Trove has options of advanced search and exchange, as well as mobile optimization. That makes it more useful.

When Trove was first launched in 2009, it included mainly print content. The portal has been developing rapidly during the past decade. Today, about 90 per cent of Trove is digital content.

In 2009, libraries were the main participants in the project. Today, Trove cooperates with galleries, museums, archives and historical societies, as well as the media and research organizations.
