Memorable Dates of Russia: Russian museums to host the travelling exhibition "Tula Kremlin - Southern Citadel of Russia in the XVI-XVII Centuries", marking the 500th anniversary of the Tula Kremlin
The Tula State Museum of Weapons marks the 500th anniversary of the Tula Kremlin creation. It arranged the travelling exhibition "Tula Kremlin - Southern Citadel of Russia in the XVI-XVII Centuries". Local History Museums in Venev and Odoyev, as well as the Novomoskovsk Historical and Art Museum, will host this exhibition from October to December 2020.
The project illustrates the glorious pages of the military history of the Tula Kremlin, which used to be the main fortress of the defensive fortification line at the southern borders of the Russian state for centuries. The exhibition highlights the creation of the Tula Kremlin, the history of military affairs of the Moscow state, as well as the development of ordnance industry in Tula.
The exposition showcases colourful scientific reconstructions, maps and engravings of contemporaries that truthfully portrait defenders of the southern borders of Russia in the XVI-XVII centuries.
