31 August 2020

The Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation will examine and approve thirty new educational programs developed by leading Russian universities for regional educational institutions in the most popular fields of knowledge. The creators of the programs take into consideration the situation with the economy and human resources of a particular region. The representatives of the largest regional industrial enterprises are involved in the project design.

Programs develop the high-tech industries that are not represented in regional universities, for example, information security and nanotechnology. The project engages more than eighty specialists of ten Russian universities, which are highly esteemed in national and international ratings.

Employees of leading Russian universities take part in the creation of practice-oriented programs. The coordinator is the Saint-Petersburg Polytechnic University, which provides contact between universities and industrial enterprises.

Vitaly Sergeev, Pro-Rector for Research of the Saint-Petersburg Polytechnic University, called the project an important step towards the integration of education, science and industry. It will lead to the creation of a knowledge economy and increase the demand for Russian products all over the world.

The organizers of the project announced that the new developments of Russian universities will be released on international platforms and available by foreign students.
