The information project "The Russian Federation State Council in Printed Publications and Archival Documents (from the Collections of the Library of the Presidential Executive Office of the Russian Federation, the Archive of the President of the Russian Federation, the Russian State Library and Federal Archives)" is available on the official website of the Federal Archival Agency. Printed publications and documents from the collections of the State Archives of the Russian Federation, Russian State Historical Archives (RGIA), Russian State Archives of Social and Political History (RGASPI) reveal the history of the creation and activity of the State Council of the Russian Empire (1810-1917), the State Council of the USSR (September - December 1991), the State Council under the President of the RSFSR (July - November 1991).

The opening of the project is timed to coincide with the 20th anniversary of the Russian Federation State Council, established by the Executive Order of the President of the Russian Federation No. 1602 (01.09.2000).

The resource users may learn about the legal status and powers of the State Council. According to Russian President Vladimir Putin, this power is standing out in all advisory institutions as "a political body of strategic purpose".
