Internet and Museums: Kultura.RF portal developed a guide to the masterpieces from the collections of the State Russian Museum
Marking the 125th anniversary of the establishment of the State Russian Museum, the Kultura.RF portal developed a guide to the masterpieces of the collections of the Mikhailovsky Palace and the Benois Wing.
The guide features detailed descriptions and comments on such significant works as "The Last Day of Pompeii" by Karl Bryullov, "The Ninth Wave" by Ivan Aivazovsky, "Barge Haulers on the Volga" by Ivan Repin, "The Flying Demon" by Mikhail Vrubel and other great masters.
"The Russian Museum keeps on developing the museum’s official website and its social networks. More than 50 million people have watched our online tours, lectures, masterclasses and educational programs since March 2020. This guide comprises 20 key masterpieces that are available online on the Kultura.RF portal, as well as at the permanent exhibition of the Mikhailovsky Palace and Benois Wing", said Anna Tsvetkova, Deputy General Director of the State Russian Museum for Development and Public Relations.
Besides an extensive collection of paintings, the State Russian Museum also represents icons by Moscow, Novgorod, and Pskov masters of different centuries. A special project introduces one of the most ancient icons in the museum's collection - "Archangel Gabriel (Angel with Golden Hair)" of the XII century.
