Its specialists developed and provided a methodological basis for the creation of the concept of a new library, its collections and services. The library collections were specially developed considering the most relevant issues demanded by scientists and researchers of the Russian military history. More than 2000 books and documents are already available. The collections will be regularly improved.

The first section features publications of the first half of the XIX century - the early 1940s.

It presents the "Military Encyclopedia" (1911), as well as the "Military Collection" - the famous periodical of the Military Department of the Russian Empire, issued in 1858-1917. The significant place is occupied by works about the Patriotic War of 1812, including publications marking the 100th anniversary of the victory over Napoleon.

The second section is devoted to literature, published from the 1940s to the present, including prominent memoirs of Russian and foreign commanders and war participants: Zhukov, Konev, Rokossovsky, Meretskov, Admiral Kuznetsov, Eisenhower and many others. At the same time, it contains a lot of new works by Russian and foreign historians.
