Society and Culture: "A Hero of Our Time. The First Publication" exhibition presented in Moscow

Mikhail Lermontov House-Museum in Moscow launched the exhibition "A Hero of Our Time. The First Publication".

The exposition marks the 180th anniversary of the first full edition of Mikhail Lermontov's novel "A Hero of Our Time". Both Lermontov and Pechorin - a character of his novel, were already prominent at that time: the first was famous as a poet, the second as a hero of stories Bela, Fatalist (Otechestvennye Zapiski, 1839, No. 2, 6) and Taman (Otechestvennye Zapiski, 1840, No. 2). However, the full publication of the novel significantly changed the "reputation" of them both. The public representation raised them from obscurity.

The exhibition aims to present the perception of the novel by contemporaries and descendants, in other words - the idea of "A Hero of Our Time" in different epochs.
