Society and culture: The exhibition "The World Created Again", dedicated to the Russian artistic culture of the late XIX - early XX centuries, presented in Serpukhov
The Serpukhov Museum of History and Art, with the support of the State Tretyakov Gallery, the State Russian Museum and large regional museums, from October 22, 2020, presents the project "The World Created Again", dedicated to the Russian art culture of the late XIX - early XX centuries - a difficult period that formed the global idea of Russian art.
The exhibition presents 87 masterpieces from 7 museums in the country. More than 20 brightest names - Vrubel, Konchalovsky, Goncharova, Korovin, Serebryakova, Kustodiev, Larionov, Burliuk, Yuon and over 10 artistic directions - impressionism, symbolism, cubism, suprematism, abstractionism and others, represent in one museum a special world of artists who worked about centuries ago. Artists and poets more acutely than others foreseen the coming changes and began to search for new possibilities and forms of reflection of reality.
The exhibition space is divided into seven thematic sections - from pristine chaos to the world changed by man. Today, humanity is actively continuing to transform the world around it, which inevitably entails consequences that one way or another will have to think about.
The exhibition will run until April 11, 2021.
