Territory of Russia: "Savage Scenery" photo exhibition devoted to Bogdinsko-Baskunchaksky Nature Reserve presented in Astrakhan

On November 16, 2020, the Astrakhan Local Lore Museum opened the "Savage Scenery" photo exhibition. It was timed to the day of establishment of the Bogdinsko-Baskunchaksky Nature Reserve.

One of the youngest Russian reserves was founded on November 18, 1997, in the vicinity of the world-famous Lake Baskunchak. The nature reserve features 500 species of plants, 225 kinds of birds, including 22 species listed in the Red Book of the Russian Federation.

The project brought together photographers from different Russian regions. The exposition showcases the works of Stanislav Shinkarenko (Volgograd), a multiple finalist and prize-winner of photo contests "Wildlife of Russia", "The Most Beautiful Country", "Golden Turtle"; Sergey Poproshaev (Volzhsky), the author of several publications for National Geographic Russia; Anton Voronin (Voronezh); Yakov Oskanov (Rostov-on-Don); Ivan Semiryakov (Akhtubinsk); Konstantin Grebennikov (Malakhovka); Viktor Slavgorodsky (Voronezh).

The exposition includes about 30 works representing the surroundings of the Baskunchak salt lake and the Big Bogdo mountain, their flora and fauna.

The exhibition will run until December 16.
