Memory of Russia: Exhibition "Memory of Generations: the Great Patriotic War in Fine Arts" to open in Tyumen

On November 27, 2020, the I. Ya. Slovtsov Museum Complex in Tyumen will open the exhibition "Memory of Generations: the Great Patriotic War in Fine Arts". It features masterpieces from the leading Russian museums. The exposition was arranged by the Patriarchal Council for Culture. It follows up the "Memory of Generations" exhibition, opened by Russian President Vladimir Putin at the Moscow Manege in 2019.

The historical and cultural heritage of the Great Patriotic War is great. It includes masterpieces of literature, music and fine arts. Until today, Victory remains in the national and cultural memory, obtaining more sophisticated and diverse creative interpretation. It presents in the works of many masters. They are both front-line artists - participants in the events, and war correspondents who worked in front-line and army newspapers. They left invaluable documentary and dramatic evidence of the great sorrow and strength of the people who survived hunger, hardship and death but survived and won.

The exposition features more than 40 paintings and sculptures created by artists of several generations.

The exhibition is a part of the "Creative People" project of the "Culture" national project. It involves the ROSIZO State Museum and Exhibition Centre, the State Tretyakov Gallery, the State Central Museum of Contemporary History of Russia, the Moscow State Defence Museum, the Central Museum of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, the Sh. Mardzhani Scientific and Cultural Programs Support Fund, "Triumph" gallery and the Union of Artists of Russia.

The exhibition will run until January 17, 2021.
