The exhibition "Pavel Filonov and His Disciples" from the collection of the State Russian Museum (Saint-Petersburg) was opened on December 4, 2020, in the Novosibirsk Art Museum as part of the "Culture" National Project.
Pavel Filonov is a Russian avant-garde artist, founder and ideologist of the analytical method in the art.
The exhibition halls of the Novosibirsk State Art Museum present almost all periods of the artist's life and career, which allows comprehending the development of his idea of analytical art. Pavel Filonov can be compared with Pablo Picasso as an artist and art philosopher.
The exposition features 18 paintings and 41 graphic works. The second section (48 items) introduces the artworks of his most devoted disciples and followers.
The exhibition will run until February 21, 2021.
