5 December 2020

The Victory Museum developed an online program, marking the 79th anniversary of the beginning of the counteroffensive in the Battle of Moscow. On December 5, the museum's website will release a tour of the diorama "Counteroffensive of Soviet Troops near Moscow", songs about the Moscow defenders and a workshop for making models of legendary military equipment.

At 12:00 pm, the museum will present a new online tour. It will highlight the events of December 1941, and tell about the military capital, as well as the battlefield near Yakhroma (Moscow Region). It will spotlight the outcome of the winter counteroffensive of the Red Army, which disrupted the plan of the Hitler's command, drove back the enemy from Moscow by 100-250 km, and eliminated the direct threat of capturing the capital. A unique diorama recaptures the atmosphere of the events of that time. A guide will show the original exhibits, private belongings of the heroes, such as a letter perforated by the bullet by Colonel Viktor Polosukhin, the capital's defender.

The literary and musical composition "Battle of Moscow" will begin at 13:00. The program will be hosted by representatives of the "Young Army" Movement, who will tell about the events of those days. Internet audiences will also listen to the musical compositions performed by the Children's Musical Theater "Domisolka" - "The Sacred War", "March of the Moscow Defenders", "Moscow Anthem".

At 14:00 the workshop "Military Equipment of the Great Patriotic War" will start. During the lesson, representatives of the Odintsovo Youth Centre will reveal the secrets of modelling.
