Libraries and Society: Tambov Regional Library to hold a correspondence stage of the Interregional Scientific and Practical Conference "The History of the Library in the History of the Region"

On December 17-18, 2020, Tambov hosts a correspondence stage of the Interregional Scientific and Practical Conference "The History of the Library in the History of the Region". Its organizers are the Department for Culture and Archives of Tambov Region, the Alexander Pushkin Tambov Regional Universal Scientific Library, Tambov Library Society and the Section of the Central Libraries in Russian Regions of the Russian Library Association. The event marks the 190th anniversary of the main library in Tambov Region.

The conference focuses attention on the problems of regional libraries at the previous and modern stages. It searches for ways to develop and improve professional activities and aims to promote regional and interregional cooperation.

The following topics are to be discussed:

- Library in the context of regional history;

- Regional library as an active participant in the creation of the local information space;

- Library in the system of regional science and culture: modern requirements;

- Library collections and library and information services;

- Professional library community as a factor in the development of library science;

- Interregional cooperation of libraries.

Specialists from libraries, archives, museums, universities, research institutes, publishing houses, representatives of government agencies and public organizations are invited to participate.
