International Events: Exhibition "A Century of Korean Art Photography, 1920–2020" opened in Saint-Petersburg

The ROSPHOTO Museum and Exhibition Centre and the Museum of Photography in Seoul (MoPS) present an exhibition project "A Century of Korean Art Photography, 1920–2020". It runs in Saint-Petersburg from December 19, 2020.

The exposition marks the 30th anniversary of Russian-Korean relations. It is the first retrospective exhibition of Korean photography in Russia.

The exhibition project shows the evolution of topics, features and techniques of Korean photography. The pictures are arranged chronological order and form three sections, presenting the most significant periods in the history of Korean art photography. The exhibition brings together the works of ten authors of different generations.

The exhibition focuses on the national approach to the interpretation of contemporary art ideas of the XX century. The extraordinary development of photographic culture in South Korea is conveyed by the story of the local art processes for a hundred years.
