Society and Culture: Simferopol airport to host a photo exhibition marking the 95th anniversary of Artek

A photo exhibition "Artek - 95. The History of Artek in Facts and Photographs'', the final event of the Artek's anniversary year, was opened in the passenger terminal of the Ivan Aivazovsky Airport in Simferopol.

The exposition is located in the registration area on the ground floor of the terminal. 20 stands present historical photographs and facts. They reflect the main milestones and events of the children's centre within 95 years. The exhibition spotlights the history of the development of Artek from a small tent camp in 1925, to the modern International Children's Centre, which receives more than 40 thousand children from 90 countries a year. It covers a wide range of Artek's activities from the first festival of the legendary camp on June 16, 1925, to the key Russian event in 2020 - the final of the All-Russian Contest for Schoolchildren "Big Change" - the project of the presidential platform "Russia - the Country of Opportunities".

Each stand includes a historical fact and a photograph. Besides, there is a quotation from a famous person or child - a participant in the described event. This quotation reflects their attitude to Artek and the specific historical moment.
