Museums of Russia: Items of antique art to enter the exposition of the Hermitage-Ural Centre

29 January 2021

The main exposition of the Hermitage-Ural Cultural and Educational Centre will include items of antique art. They were sent to Sverdlovsk during the Great Patriotic War. It is expected that they will be available for the public this April.

The exposition features European art of different periods from antiquity to the early XX century. It presents paintings and sculptures, as well as glass, porcelain and bronze items.

Some of these artefacts have been previously showcased at the temporary exhibitions of the Yekaterinburg Fine Arts Museum. However, it was only a small part of the future collection.

The Cultural Center should be open in November 2020, but the coronavirus pandemic altered these plans.
