13 March 2021

The Tambov Regional Local Lore Museum launched an exhibition "Pioneers of the Stone Age", prepared by the "Kostyonki" Museum-Reserve (Voronezh Region). The event is part of interregional exhibition projects.

The exhibition project highlights the long and difficult development of the North of Eurasia by people of the modern physical type.

Kostyonki ("Kostyonki" Museum-Reserve is on the territory of the villages of Kostyonki and Borshchevo) became one of the most significant points on the way of people's migration in the Stone Age. These people were pioneers not only in the development of new areas but also in the building of elaborate dwellings, production of various stone and bone tools, perfect hunting weapons, beautiful clothing and amazing pieces of art.

The exposition features items from the general and supplementary scientific museum collections, reconstruction complexes, illustrations to ancient production processes and crafts. A separate section is devoted to the history and practice of archaeological work in Kostyonki.

The exhibition will run until April 2, 2021.
