April 9, 2021, the State Tretyakov Gallery (Moscow) will open the exhibition "Nikolai Feshin. Collection of the State Museum of Fine Arts of the Republic of Tatarstan''.

The personal exhibition of Nikolai Ivanovich Feshin (1881-1955), one of the most eminent artists of the first half of the XX century, will continue the collaboration of the State Tretyakov Gallery and the State Museum of Fine Arts of the Republic of Tatarstan within the framework of the centenary celebration of the establishment of the Tatarstan Republic.

Kazan keeps the extensive collection of the artist's works, including painting, graphics, sculpture. Most of them were created mainly before his emigration to the United States in 1923. During the period of searches for the national character of art, Feshin began to create artworks close to the artistic and plastic movements of his time, highlighting new topics related to the life of a multinational country. For the first time, Moscow will host picturesque masterpieces - large-scale canvases Pouring (1911) and Slaughterhouse (1919). Numerous wonderful painted portraits will demonstrate the brilliant art of the artist.

The exhibition will run until July 25, 2021.
