Marking the 60th Anniversary of the First Manned Space-flight: "Walking to the Stars" exhibition opened in Moscow

8 April 2021

On April 7, 2021, the State Museum of Oriental Art (Moscow) will launch athe "Walking to the Stars" exhibition by the cosmic artist Boris Smirnov-Rusetsky. It marks a significant date - the 60th anniversary of the first manned space-flight in history. On April 12, 1961, the Soviet cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin became the first man who made the flight around the planet Earth.

The opening of the art exhibition devoted to the anniversary Cosmonautics Day is not accidental. "Walking to the Stars" is both an astronaut "Number 1", who opened the space era, and an artist striving for spiritual ascension. Every person, who dares to cross the edge of the unknown trying to achieve the secrets of the Universe, is walking to the stars.

The exhibition features about 20 paintings by Boris Smirnov-Rusetsky from the "Cosmos" series. These works are majestic and lyrical at the same time. They create a feeling of solemnity and inner harmony.
