Memory of Russia: Multimedia exposition "Remember" at the Exhibition of Achievements of National Economy to tell about the war in the first person
Pavilion No. 57 of the Historical Park "Russia is My History" hosts a multimedia exposition "Remember". It is a unique author's project, which allows looking at the events of the Great Patriotic War through the eyes of its participants from a marshal to a resident of besieged Leningrad.
The exposition was arranged with the support of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation. It comprises seven halls united by a single concept. Each hall tells the story of one of the war participants: a marshal, a prisoner of a concentration camp, a resident of besieged Leningrad and a nurse.
The project is based on unique diaries, letters, memoirs, archival photos and videos. The exposition is built like a feature film, using video mapping technology. The exhibition begins with the hall, which presents the last day of a peaceful life. It shows how the Soviet citizens are preparing for an ordinary working week, and school students celebrate their graduation, not knowing that tomorrow their lives will change forever.
Then the visitor occurs in the corridors of the Kremlin. It is possible to pick up the telephone of the war years and learn that the highest Soviet military leadership were called to an emergency meeting with Joseph Stalin. Later the visitor will come to Stalin's office and realize how the leader decided to invoke martial law in the USSR.
The exhibition was created by a group of young authors from Yekaterinburg. It marks the 75th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. It took about ten months from the idea to the implementation of the "Let's Remember" project and the reception of its first visitors in the park "Russia is my History". In the first season, the exhibition was attended by 16.5 thousand residents of Sverdlovsk Region. Now the unique exposition is available in Russian 23 regions. Moscow residents and capital's guests may visit it at the Exhibition of Achievements of National Economy.
