Memorable Dates of Russia: Exhibition "Ivan Kudryashov. In Celebration of the 125th Anniversary of the Artist's Birth" presented at the State Tretyakov Gallery

The State Tretyakov Gallery (Moscow, New Tretyakov,10 Krymsky Val) launched the exhibition "Ivan Kudryashov. In Celebration of the 125th Anniversary of the Artist's Birth".

The museum project commemorating the 125th anniversary of Ivan Alekseevich Kudryashov (1896–1972) is the first and most comprehensive retrospective show of the works of one of the most remarkable artists of the Russian Suprematism and Cosmism.

Ivan Alekseyevich Kudryashov was the most prominent artist of the Russian Avant-garde, a painter, a theatre designer, a graphic artist, a teacher, who created his version of abstract art. He was a student of Kazimir Malevich and Natan Pevzner in two State Free Art Studios. Along with Malevich and El Lissitzky, he became a co-founder of Avant-garde studios in Orenburg, where he organized a branch of the "Party of Artists"/Unovis (Champions of a New Art).

The exhibition at the State Tretyakov Gallery is the first and most comprehensive retrospective of the artist's works. It is an international museum project and research that opens new pages of the Russian Avant-garde. It was organized by the Tretyakov Gallery in partnership with the Arts and Culture Development Foundation under the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the A. Savitsky Art Museum of Karakalpakstan, the State Russian Museum, the Vyatka Art Museum, the Museum of Modern Art - Kostaki Collection (Thessaloniki), the J. Pompidou Centre, as well as private collections.

The exhibition will run until August 22, 2021.
