Society and Culture: Exhibition "The World of Childhood in Russian Fine Arts" presented at the Abramtsevo Museum-Reserve in Moscow Region

1 June 2021

The exhibition "The World of Childhood in Russian Fine Arts" was opened at the Polenov Dacha of the Abramtsevo Museum-Reserve (Moscow Region). The exposition features 32 paintings and graphic works of the XIX - early XX centuries from the National Art Museum of the Republic of Belarus. It also includes works by Russian artists from the State Historical, Art and Literary Museum-Reserve Abramtsevo.

The exhibition includes works by V. Tropinin, I. Khrutsky, V. Perov, V. Vasnetsov, E. Polenova, N. Bogdanov-Belsky and many others. It is arranged as part of an agreement between the two museums, signed in 2019 in St. Petersburg at the VI Forum of Russian and Belarusian Regions.

The main feature of the exposition is the ability to compare different points of view on the personality of the child and the theme of childhood. The presented works are intended to remind that a child is a significant symbol of the eternity of life, and therefore the eternity of the world.

The exhibition will run until July 18.
