Exhibitions: Photo exhibition about the future circumnavigation of the Mir sailing ship to open in Saint-Petersburg

On June 2, 2021, the SAILING THE GLOBE photo exhibition about the future circumnavigation of the Mir sailing ship will be opened on Cathedral Square of the Peter and Paul Fortress.

Mir sailing ship is a three-masted training frigate, considered the fastest in the world. Its maximum sailing speed - 21 knots (38.9 km/h). In its history, Mir won more than 20 prestigious international races and regattas. Mir regularly becomes an honorary guest of holidays and celebrations in Russian and foreign ports.

The SAILING THE GLOBE circumnavigation, which will take place in 2022–2023, is supported by the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin and is timed to coincide with the celebration of World Maritime Day in Russia in 2023 and the 78th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941–1945.

The exhibition, organized by the Rosmorport company, will show the life of a ship, the training of cadets, differences of the Russian and maritime languages, and the route of a round-the-world trip.

The exhibition will be free; it will run until June 6, 2021.
