President of Russia: Vladimir Putin instructed to create the Interdepartmental Commission for Historical Education

President of Russia Vladimir Putin signed an Executive Order on the creation of the Interdepartmental Commission for Historical Education. The text of the Executive Order is available on the official Internet Portal of Legal Information.

The Executive Order of the head of state declares that the commission was formed "to ensure a systematic and sustainable strategy of defending the national interests of the Russian Federation relevant to the preservation of historical memory and the development of educational activities in the field of history".

Vladimir Medinsky, Chairman of the Russian Military Historical Society and Aide to the President of Russia, is an appointed Head of the Commission.
