History and Culture: Exhibition "Works of the Imperial Glass Factory of the XIX - early XX Centuries from the Collections of the State Historical Museum" to hold in Moscow

The State Historical Museum (Moscow) launched an exhibition "Works of the Imperial Glass Factory of the XIX - early XX Centuries from the Collections of the State Historical Museum".

The exposition features over a hundred works by the Imperial Glass Factory from the collections of the Ceramics and Glass Department of the State Historical Museum.

Most of the presented items were made by the order of the Imperial Court. They used to be a tableware and interior decoration in numerous palaces of the Russian Imperial Family, an obligatory part of the dowry of grand dukes and princesses, a sign of the highest status for their owners from aristocratic families. The leading artists of different times developed the designs of the Imperial Glass Factory's products, which always were excellent examples of refined work and style. It rightfully makes the Imperial Glass Factory the "trendsetter" of Russian glassmaking.

The Imperial Glass Factory was also a constant participant in all-Russian and world exhibitions. The exposition presents works of exceptional quality. The Factory's masters created them to demonstrate the achievements of Russia in this industry.

The exhibition tells the story of the enterprise that made the glory of Russian artistic glassmaking and shows the technological and artistic achievements of the imperial glassmakers.
