International Events: Exhibition "Moscow - Seoul: Common Ideas" presented in Moscow

29 August 2021

The Museum of Moscow presents the exhibition "Moscow - Seoul: Common Ideas". The project will mark the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between modern Russia and the Republic of Korea and twin cities Moscow and Seoul.

The exhibition curators demonstrate pair works by Russian and South Korean artists. The exhibition space unites representatives of Moscow and Seoul in a dialogue on common topics: the interrelation of global and local, personal and national identities, space and memory, traditions and modernity. Besides, the works by Russian and South Korean artists have clear technical and genre differences.

The exhibition at the Museum of Moscow sums up the preliminary results of a long-term project of the Triumph Gallery, which, in collaboration with other institutions, presented Korean contemporary art to the Moscow audience. Many Korean artists displayed their oeuvre in Russia for the first time. For some artists, Moscow exhibitions became their debut museum projects.

The exhibition will run until November 7, 2021.
