Museums of Russia: History of the F. I. Tyutchev Muranovo Estate-Museum revealed at the exhibition opened in Moscow Region

26 August 2021

The F. I. Tyutchev Muranovo Estate-Museum (Moscow Region) launched the exhibition "The Way of the Museum". It tells how the estate, which belonged to people of the highest culture, the descendants of the genius poet and philosopher Fyodor Tyutchev, turned into a museum. Its former owners became museum specialists who preserve priceless treasures of Russian literature and art.

The exhibition portrays such remarkable museum workers as Nikolai Tyutchev, the first curator of the Muranovo estate, an excellent collector and antiquarian with magnificent art taste and the most talented diplomat. He managed to guide the "museum ship" through all the storms of the first half of the XX century. He was replaced by his nephew Kirill Vasilievich Pigarev, director-scientist, competent literary critic and historian.

Such famous poets, philosophers and artists as S. N. Durylin, M. A. Voloshin, A. N. Kravchenko, N. N. Vysheslavtsev took part in the establishment and development of the museum.

The museum keeps on communicating with the descendants of Fyodor Tyutchev and Evgeny Boratynsky.

A new exhibition tells about these outstanding people and their activity to develop and preserve the museum.

The exposition will run until October 17, 2021.
