Internet and Culture: Online projects of the State Russian Museum presented on the new Internet resource Culture Online
The Culture Online portal is a new educational digital project for all lovers and professionals of culture and art. The portal's creators are the OGOO Russian Cultural Foundation and the St. Petersburg International Cultural Forum.
The unique Internet resource is the result of the first Culture Online Prize for the best creative online projects in 2020, organized by the St. Petersburg International Cultural Forum. Russian cultural organizations nominated digital projects created during the pandemic restrictions that changed the traditional format of cultural institutions. These works became the basis for the Culture Online portal.
Most of the initiatives on the portal have personal presentations by their authors, who tell in short interviews about the work on projects during a pandemic, share the experience and give their colleagues valuable advice.
The website features over 230 digital cultural projects: mobile apps, online performances, virtual exhibitions, concert broadcasts, podcasts, culture blogs and much more. There are online projects by the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts, Dmitri Shostakovich St. Petersburg State Academic Philharmonic, the musicAeterna team by Teodor Currentzis, the TASS News Agency, the Rossiya Segodnya Media Group, the Okko Multimedia Service and many other cultural institutions, media and IT companies.
The Russian Museum releases three projects nominated for the contest - an online course on contemporary Russian art, the AR application The Last Day of Pompeii and the Media Portal.
