Education and Society: Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation to develop a network of school libraries

School libraries may become project development centres and help develop digital skills in children. Sergei Kravtsov, the head of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation, expressed this opinion at a meeting with the participation of Svetlana Chupsheva, the General Director of the Agency for Strategic Initiatives.

According to Sergei Kravtsov, it is necessary to "restart school libraries" and look for approaches to unite the school and public libraries in cities and villages. The minister asked the head of the Agency for Strategic Initiatives for proposals for the development of such projects.

Besides, the meeting discussed initiatives by the Agency for Strategic Initiatives to create a new educational environment. They feature the implementation of architectural and design solutions, the installation of new educational equipment, the development of the competencies of students and teachers within project activities. Sergei Kravtsov pointed out that all proposed projects would be discussed at the Academic Council of the Education Management Institute of the Russian Academy of Education.
