History and Culture: Moscow Kremlin Museums to present the exhibition "Magnificent Age of Catherine the Great. Court Jewellery Art of the Second Half of the XVIII Century" in Krasnodar

On September 3, 2021, the E. D. Felitsyn Krasnodar State Historical Archaeological Museum and Heritage Site will open the exhibition "Magnificent Age of Catherine the Great. Court Jewellery Art of the Second Half of the XVIII Century''.

It is the first exhibition project of the Moscow Kremlin Museums in Krasnodar Region. On display are unique pieces from the museum collections created by the best Western European, Russian and Oriental jewellers.

The Russian court of the XVIII century dazzled with the luxury and richness of jewellery. It was made by the best gold- and silversmiths of Saint Petersburg, and it was ordered or bought through agents in London, Paris, Augsburg and Vienna. Jewellers from France, Switzerland, England, Germany and the Baltic region came to work in the northern capital.

The exhibition features unique items from the collections of the Moscow Kremlin Museums, created by the leading court jewellers of Russia, Europe and the East in the middle - second half of the XVIII century.

Some of the precious items are on display for the first time. The exhibition is intended for a general audience from true art lovers to young people and students who are just starting their trip to Russian history.
