Society and Book Culture: V Annual Scientific and Practical Conference "Book Rarities in the Aspect of Preservation" to hold in Moscow remotely and in-person

On October 19-21, 2021, Rudomino All-Russian State Library for Foreign Literature (Moscow) will host online and offline events of the V Annual Interdisciplinary Scientific and Practical Conference "Book Rarities in the Aspect of Preservation", devoted to the centenary of the Inostranka magazine. Its organizers are three library departments: the IFLA Centre for Strategic Program for Preservation and Conservation for the CIS and Eastern Europe, the Centre for the Conservation and Restoration of Documents and the Centre for Acquisition and Processing of Documents.

The conference aims to arrange a professional dialogue of specialists working with library collections considering modern trends in the development of Russian and world methods, materials and technology.

Issues for discussion:

- the formation of library collections as a unique cultural heritage;

- conducting historical and bibliological research;

- book collections: presentation of national cultural heritage in open information space;

- activities of libraries in ensuring the safety of library collections;

- research, conservation and restoration of documents;

- general issues of preservation of library collections;

- preservation of digital heritage.
