Internet and Moscow History: Russpass digital travel service released a new tour around Moscow
The Russpass digital travel service released a new tour in Moscow Around and Near the Kremlin. Its route runs through the historic part of the city - along its borders in the Middle Ages. The tour will allow the users to learn how the capital has changed over several centuries.
The route includes eight points of interest. It starts from the Manege Central Exhibition Hall, designed by architects Augustin Betancourt and Osip Bove in the XIX century. Then the travellers go to the Museum of Archeology of Moscow. The underground pavilion at a depth of seven meters features unique exhibits and ancient treasures found during excavations, for example, household items of the residents of old Moscow.
To imagine how the city looked in the XVI-XVII centuries, the traveller should turn to Varvarka. There are the chambers of the Romanov boyars, the birthplace of the first tsar from this dynasty, Mikhail Fedorovich. Now it houses the unique museum in Russia, which tells about the patriarchal life of the Moscow boyars.
Next, users take a walk through the historic Kitay-Gorod district and see a fragment of the XVI century fortress wall that protected its territory. Now behind the stone building is the modern Zaryadye park. During the walk, it is possible to explore it and pretend what it looked like several centuries ago.
The route will end at the walls of the Moscow Kremlin, in the Alexander Garden filled with monuments of different eras.
Besides the mentioned sights, the traveller may visit the State Department Store, the Intercession Cathedral on Red Square and the State Historical Museum.
