Information Technology and Museums: Korean audio guide to the Armoury Chamber of the Moscow Kremlin launched

7 October 2021

The Moscow Kremlin Museums and the Cultural Centre of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in the Russian Federation launched a Korean audio guide to the Armoury Chamber. This project is supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea. It is part of the 2020-2021 Year of Mutual Interchanges between the Republic of Korea and the Russian Federation, which marks the anniversary of the start of diplomatic relations on September 30, 1990.

The audio guide in Korean is available to visitors from October 1, 2021. It tells about the history of the formation of the Armoury Chamber collection that comprises symbols of the power of Russian monarchs - from the Monomakh's Cap to the imperial coronation gowns of the XIX century. The guide also pays attention to the building, which houses the treasury. The architect intended to decorate it as a stone jewellery box. An audio guide user may begin exploring the museum's exposition starting with any collection by choosing the appropriate room number.

Over the past few years, the Kremlin Museums have noticed a great interest in Russian culture and museums among guests from the Republic of Korea. The Korean audio guide will help both Koreans living in Russia and Korean tourists learn about the treasures of the Moscow Kremlin Museums.
