Society and Culture: Exhibition "235 Years of the Simbirsk Main Public School" presented in Ulyanovsk

The exhibition "235 Years of the Simbirsk Main Public School" will run at the "Simbirsk Classical Gymnasium" Museum in Ulyanovsk until November 30, 2021.

On September 22 (October 4, according to a new style), the Main Public School, the predecessor of the Simbirsk Provincial Gymnasium, was opened in Simbirsk. The exhibition presents the Public Schools Charter, approved by Empress Catherine the Great, textbooks and teaching aids, and copies of the building project, constructed in 1790 by the architect I. P. Toscani, and a description of the history of the educational institution, compiled by the gymnasium teacher I. Ya. Khristoforov.
