Archives of Russia: Exhibition devoted to the city's industry and marking the 85th anniversary of the Central State Historical Archive launched in St. Petersburg

The exhibition "Tribute of St. Petersburg Industrial Enterprises to the City", marking the 85th anniversary of the St. Petersburg Central State Historical Archive, was opened in the "Russia - My History" museum.

The exhibition tells about the formation and development of the St. Petersburg industry from the XVIII century to 1917. It features copies of documents from the collections of the Baltic Shipyard, Izhora and Putilovsky plants, Skorokhod Petrograd Shoes Factory and others. Also, it showcases materials on the construction of factories and plants, office management at enterprises, medical support and housing for workers.

Besides, it presents a drawing of a beer carriage made at the Putilovsky Plant; documents of Charles Baird on a purchase of land on Matisov Island in 1797 for building a plant; a price list of the Skorokhod Factory with shoe styles and trademarks; a certificate of granting the Georges Bormand Factory the title of a Supplier to the Court of His Imperial Majesty; drawings of industrial buildings; labels of products; advertising brochures of the Bavaria Brewing Society and the Shapshal Brothers Tobacco Factory.

The documents of industrial enterprises make up almost a quarter of the St. Petersburg Central State Historical Archive collections.
