History and Culture: Exhibition of works of Russian artists of the XIX century "Serenity and Delight" presented in St. Petersburg

16 November 2021

Until January 30, 2022, the Manege Central Exhibition Hall (St. Petersburg) will host "Serenity and Delight", a large-scale exhibition project.

The exhibition at Manege spotlights works by more than a hundred Russian artists (including Vladimir Borovikovsky and Vasily Tropinin, Sylvester Schedrin and Orest Kiprensky, Fyodor Tolstoy and Karl Bryullov, Ivan Shishkin and Arkhip Kuindzhi, Mikhail Nesterov and Viktor Borisov-Musatov) from the collections of 39 leading museums in Russia and abroad.

As part of the exhibition project, the Manege team provides a rich educational program (the events will be online). The program introduces visitors to the history and philosophy of the XIX century. By studying these masterpieces of fine art, literature, and music, program participants will discover an inimitable aesthetic that still interests and attracts our contemporaries.
