
Internet and Society: website marking the Year of the Russian language in the CIS countries – 2023 launched
On behalf of the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia, the Pushkin State Institute of the Russian Language launched the official website of educational and scientific events of the Year of the Russian language in the CIS countries, which will be held in 2023. It will contain all the information about the events of the upcoming thematic year.
The first of them will be an online cycle of open lectures and workshops on the most relevant, modern and exciting aspects of the Russian language and literature. The participation in lectures and workshops is free. The schedule and links to broadcast events is available on the Year's website.
The Year of the Russian Language in the CIS countries will be held within the framework of the state program "Support and Promotion of the Russian Language Abroad". The proposal to hold a thematic year was put forward in September 2021 at a meeting of the Council for Cultural Cooperation of the CIS States, which was held in Minsk in a mixed format with the participation of experts from Azerbaijan, the Republic of Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, the National Historical Museum of Belarus, the International Delphic Committee and the Executive Committee of the CIS.
