History and Culture: Exhibition "Alexander Ivanov. Bible Sketches. Evangelical Motives" opened at the State Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow

7 January 2022

The exhibition "Alexander Ivanov. Bible Sketches. Evangelical Motives" was launched at the State Tretyakov Gallery (10 Lavrushinsky Lane, Moscow).

The State Tretyakov Gallery is the exclusive owner of the graphic heritage of Alexander Ivanov (1806-1858), which includes more than 700 separate sheets and about 40 albums. The complete collection provides the opportunity to form several successive expositions, a kind of a mini-exhibition. "Evangelical Motives" shows Ivanov's unique graphic cycle "Bible Sketches", which embodied the artist's complex artistic and philosophical searches in the last decade of his life.
