Marking Heroes of the Fatherland Day: Exhibition spotlighting the feats and heroism of doctors and an exposition of military-historical scale models presented in Krasnoyarsk

9 December 2021

On December 9, Russia celebrates Heroes of the Fatherland Day. On this day, people honour Heroes of the Soviet Union, Heroes of the Russian Federation, full holders of the Order of Glory and St. George, and pay tribute to those who have shown outstanding valour, courage and bravery.

The House of Friendship of the Peoples of Krasnoyarsk Territory annually holds exhibitions marking this memorable date. This year the exhibition spotlights exploits and heroism committed both in wartime and peacetime. The exposition consists of two parts that feature portraits of doctors working in the "red zone" and military-historical scale models.

Just a year of the COVID-19 pandemic made the doctor's profession the most valuable and significant for all people. Doctors risk their lives every day but again enter the "red zone" to save their patients. The Krasnoyarsk artist Igor Bashmakov presents portraits of health workers.

The second part of the exhibition showcases military-historical scale models devoted to Heroes of the Fatherland Day. Exhibits reveal the history of the technical equipment of the domestic Armed Forces and the heroic past of our Fatherland from the Great Patriotic War to modern times. The authors of the works are lovers of scale models from Krasnoyarsk and Zheleznogorsk. The presented items illustrate not only the heroic past; they also demonstrate the scientific and technical achievements of many designers, whose work ensured Victory over the enemies of the Fatherland.

The exhibition is available in the House of Friendship of the Peoples of Krasnoyarsk Territory until December 16.
