21 January 2022

On January 20, 2022, the Museum and Cultural Center "The House of the Merchant G. V. Tetyushinov" in Astrakhan opened the exhibition "Festive Outfit for the Broad Maslenitsa". The exhibition is held within the framework of the Year of Cultural Heritage of the Peoples of Russia. The exposition showcases stylized Slavic women's and men's shirts, clothing of the Petrine era, folk household and fair costumes of the early 20th century. All sets were created by students of the Astrakhan College of Art-Fashion Industry (teacher Tatyana Yarkina).

The exposition also features a suit of blue and silver satin, decorated with lace, corresponding to the style of the 18th century. A century later, such outfits became part of the festive Maslenitsa masquerade along with military uniforms. The most distant in style from today among the exhibits are linen shirts with bright geometric ornaments and woven belts.
