The House-Museum of the Decembrists in Kurgan was opened after renovation. It was important not only to restore the interior, but also to preserve its historical authenticity.

The Naryshkins' house became a museum in 1975, the year of the 150th anniversary of the uprising on Senate Square. A significant part of the museum collection are originals of the 19th century. Some of the exhibits came from the leading museums in Moscow and St. Petersburg, some were donated by the descendants of the exiled Decembrists.

Now the Kurgan House-Museum of the Decembrists is one of eight existing in Siberia. More than 13 thousand guests visit it every year.
