History and Culture: The exhibition “Russian Printmaking of the XVIII – early XX century” presented in Krasnoyarsk

The exhibition Russian Printmaking of the XVIII – early XX century has been opened at the Surikov Krasnoyarsk Art Museum within the exposition The Vakhtangov Century.

The exhibition mirrors every stage of the establishment and development of Russian printmaking – one of the most complicated types of graphic arts.

Printmaking has its own language, aesthetics and abilities. The exhibition presents its whole diverse world.

The exposition features 20 works from the collection of the Surikov Krasnoyarsk Art Museum.

They were gifted to the museum from the collections of the State Russian Museum and the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts in 1960-1980s. Numerous works are exhibited for the first time.

The exhibition displays pieces by not only the best masters of printmaking, but also by famous painters – Ilya Repin, Valentin Serov, Vasily Polenov, Orest Kiprensky, who rarely used printmaking in their works.

The exposition features works from the XVIII – early XX centuries in various genres and techniques.

The exhibition will run until August 28, 2022.
