President of Russia: Vladimir Putin signed the Executive Order On Celebrating the 80th anniversary of Soviet Troops Defeating Nazi German Forces in the Battle of Stalingrad in 2023

President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin signed the Executive Order On Celebrating the 80th anniversary of Soviet Troops Defeating Nazi German Forces in the Battle of Stalingrad.

Considering the special significance of the defeat of Nazi German forces by Soviet troops in the Battle of Stalingrad for achieving Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941–1945 and in connection with the 80th anniversary of this history-making event on February 2, 2023, the President resolved to establish an organising committee to prepare for and hold events to mark the 80th anniversary of Soviet troops defeating Nazi German forces in the Battle of Stalingrad.

Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev was appointed chairman of the organising committee to prepare for and hold events, marking the 80th anniversary of Soviet troops defeating Nazi German forces in the Battle of Stalingrad.

The Government of the Russian Federation received relevant instructions, some of which are to be implemented jointly with the Russian Pobeda (Victory) Organising Committee.

State agencies of the Russian Federation’s regions are advised to take part in preparing for and holding events in connection with the 80th anniversary of Soviet troops defeating Nazi German forces in the Battle of Stalingrad.
